Zakharova criticized Paris' position on military aid to Kiev

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the French authorities had not explained to their citizens who the weapons supplied to Ukraine would be used against. She said this on June 30 during a speech at the Charles de Gaulle and the Spirit of Dialogue forum, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the French leader's visit to the USSR.

"France and Zelensky even signed an agreement on the joint production of weapons, without even bothering to publicly explain to their citizens who all this will be used against," TASS quoted Zakharova as saying.

She also noted that French President Emmanuel Macron, together with Britain and Germany, allows himself to issue ultimatums to Russia, while, according to her, Paris condemns Moscow's actions, but does not criticize Kiev's policy.

In addition, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled the role of France and the USSR during World War II, mentioning the treaty of alliance and mutual assistance signed in 1944 between Joseph Stalin and Charles de Gaulle. According to Zakharova, this document has strengthened France's international position.
