In Venezuela, a woman gave birth to a baby amid the rubble of a building destroyed by an earthquake. This was reported by the newspaper El Mundo on June 26.

A video clip showing a woman who helped a woman in labor, with a baby in her arms, sitting among the rubble of a building, was posted on the publication's Facebook page (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).

According to El Mundo, the volunteers found the woman in the destroyed building at the time when she was already in labor. With the help of volunteers, the child was born in the absence of lighting and medical equipment. In the footage, the baby is actively moving.

The earthquakes in Venezuela occurred on June 24. The epicenter was located 60 km northwest of the city of Valencia, as well as 28 km northeast of San Felipe. The magnitude of the natural disaster was estimated at 7.5. The earthquake was the strongest in the country since 1900. According to the latest data, the death toll has increased to 235 people.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on June 25 that the Russian side is currently exploring the possibility of providing humanitarian assistance to Venezuela after the earthquake. Russian diplomats are in constant contact with the authorities and emergency services of the republic.
