IMO has suspended the evacuation of ships in the Strait of Hormuz after the attack off Oman

International Maritime Organization (IMO) The United Nations has suspended the evacuation of sailors from the Strait of Hormuz after an incident involving an attack on a ship off the coast of Oman. This was announced on June 25 by the organization's Secretary General Arsenio Dominguez.

"After launching the IMO evacuation plan, thanks to which several ships have already been successfully evacuated, I decided to temporarily suspend its implementation in order to re—confirm that the necessary safety guarantees will continue to be respected," he is quoted as saying on the IMO website.

Dominguez clarified that the ship was attacked in the Strait. At the same time, he stressed that this vessel did not follow the evacuation route set by the IMO.

The fragile agreements between Washington and Tehran are on the verge due to Israel's tough stance.

On the same day, a cargo ship was shelled off the coast of Oman. The ship was hit from the starboard side by an unknown projectile, which caused damage to the bridge. It is specified that there are no victims as a result of the incident.

Oman, in coordination with the UN IMO, opened a temporary transit corridor for ships in the Strait of Hormuz on June 23, which will be toll-free. The ministry noted that this step was taken in line with the agreements reached between the United States and Iran.
