Ekaterina Belskaya, the granddaughter of former Samara mayor Viktor Tarkhov, manipulated her grandfather with the help of his great-grandson and brought her grandmother to tears, begging for large sums of money. This was announced on June 25 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the hall of the Samara regional Court.

"Katya has been shaking money out of her lately. She demanded different amounts — 200 thousand rubles, 50 thousand rubles, whatever. It was all raised in high tones, she almost shook her like a pear, it happened in all sorts of ways. Natalia Ivanovna [Tarkhova] came running to me in tears," said a family friend.

According to her, after such cases, the pensioner was afraid to return home. For a long time, she hid her granddaughter's behavior from Tarkhov, sparing his health. When the former mayor found out about what was happening, he stopped letting Belskaya on the doorstep and forbade her to appear in his house.

The witness noted that Ekaterina repeatedly staged provocations, throwing the child to relatives in the entrance: seeing that Tarkhov did not open the door, she left her son in the stairwell and walked away.

On the same day, it was noted that Belskaya had attacked her grandmother with her fists several years before the brutal massacre. At the same time, the girl herself did not want to get a job, and also lived entirely at the expense of her family.

The murder of former Samara Mayor Tarkhov and his wife Natalia was reported in February 2025. According to the investigation, they died about a month before the discovery of the bodies. Shortly after, the ex-mayor's granddaughter was arrested on suspicion of double murder. According to the investigation, she had been sending SMS messages from Tarkhov and his wife's phones for a month.

At the same time, in May of this year, Belskaya pleaded guilty to murder, but refused to plead guilty to abusing the bodies of relatives. She explained that she poisoned relatives to take over their property, and then froze the bodies in nitrogen, after which they were dismembered by her accomplice. The Tarkhovs' remains were scattered in dumpsters.
