The granddaughter of the murdered ex-mayor of Samara Tarkhov threw herself at her grandmother with fists

Ekaterina Belskaya, the granddaughter of former Samara mayor Viktor Tarkhov, accused of murdering her family, attacked her grandmother with her fists a few years before the brutal massacre. This was announced on June 25 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the hall of the Samara regional Court.

"Ekaterina tried to beat her grandmother in the courtyard of the house. When I saw all this, I got out of the car and tried to separate them. <...> The defendant began — she grabbed Tarkhova by her clothes and started shaking her. <...> Natalia Ivanovna even fell during the scuffle," explained an acquaintance of the family, testifying.

The man added that Ekaterina lived at the expense of her grandfather and grandmother — the Tarkhovs paid the rent of her apartment and covered other expenses. The girl did not want to get a job and constantly begged her family for money.

The murder of the ex-mayor of Samara Tarkhov and his wife Natalia became known on February 5, 2025. According to the investigation, they died about a month before the discovery of the bodies. The last time the surveillance cameras recorded them was at the entrance of the house. After that, no one saw the couple, although messages continued to arrive on their behalf. The disappearance of the couple was reported to the police by family acquaintances.

Ekaterina, the granddaughter of the ex-mayor, was arrested on suspicion of double murder. According to the investigation, she had been sending SMS messages from Tarkhov and his wife's phones for a month. At the same time, she began selling off her grandparents' property using forged documents and claimed that Tarkhov and his wife had left the country.

A correspondent for Izvestia reported on May 21 that Ekaterina Belskaya, the granddaughter of former Samara mayor Viktor Tarkhov, pleaded guilty to murdering her grandparents, but refused to plead guilty to abusing their bodies. When asked by the judge whether she pleads guilty to committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder"), Belskaya replied in the affirmative.
