The weather in Moscow will remain unstable in the coming week, but a serious cold snap is not expected. As Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, forecaster, meteorologist, and climatologist, told Izvestia on June 22, a frontal section will approach the metropolitan region on Monday, which will bring rains and thunderstorms.

According to the expert, precipitation is expected mainly in the afternoon. At the same time, the air temperature will remain high enough for the middle of summer and will be close to comfortable values.

"On Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather in Moscow will be dry and warm. Rains are not forecast these days, and the air will warm up to +21...+23 degrees," the expert said.

However, on Thursday, a new wave of atmospheric fronts will approach the capital. According to Shuvalov, light rains and the arrival of fresher air masses are expected. Because of this, the temperature will drop slightly and will be about +18...+19 degrees.

At the same time, as the forecaster noted, there are no signs of a prolonged cold snap yet. Closer to the weekend, the temperature will start to rise again. According to preliminary forecasts, no precipitation is expected on Saturday and Sunday, and the thermometer will rise above +20 degrees again. Despite periodic rains and thunderstorms, the week in the capital region will end with comfortable summer weather.

Evgeny Tishkovets, a meteorologist and a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center, said on June 17 that June 20 could be the last day of the week with a chance of short-term rains. In addition, he admitted that at the beginning of next week, the temperature columns may reach the climatic level of July.
