On June 20, US President Donald Trump announced that police had taken into custody vandals who tried to spoil the mirror pond in Washington.

"The US National Park Police has arrested several people for vandalism of the magnificent national pond," he wrote on the Truth Social network.

He clarified that those arrested could face years in prison for the crime. In addition, the American leader said that the restoration work will begin immediately.

On June 19, Trump accused vandals of trying to deface the mirror pond in Washington. According to the American president, the attackers used chemicals to render the reservoir unusable. At the same time, Trump assured that it was possible to cause damage only in a small area of the facility, and promised to completely restore the damaged elements.
