Blogger Alexandra Mitroshina, accused of laundering 127 million rubles, said she bought real estate for personal use, unaware that she was committing a crime. This was announced on June 17 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

"I just bought apartments for myself, without investing any intention in it and without even suspecting that it could be regarded as a crime. And I paid the tax arrears as soon as I was given the opportunity," she explained, giving the last word.

On the same day, the state prosecution requested Mitroshina to serve three years in a general regime penal colony with a fine of 900 thousand rubles. In addition, the prosecutor asked to confiscate her property.

Mitroshina was detained on March 7, 2025 at Sochi airport, where she arrived from Dubai. She was charged with money laundering. Since March 2022, Mitroshina has lived in the UAE and returned to Russia for the first time in three years. According to investigators, having debts to the tax service, in 2021 she purchased an elite apartment on Bolshaya Dmitrovka in the center of Moscow.

On November 1, the Investigative Committee of Russia completed the investigation of the criminal case against Mitroshina (paragraph "b" of Part 4 of Article 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Legalization (laundering) of funds on an especially large scale"), sending it to court.

In March, Mitroshina partially pleaded guilty to money laundering and explained that she did not dispute the tax authorities' claim of business fragmentation. Currently, the blogger's house arrest has been extended until August 1.
