Finland will consider the possibility of importing nuclear weapons into the country

The Finnish authorities are considering the possibility of allowing the import and storage of nuclear weapons in the country. This was reported on June 17 by RIA Novosti with reference to the agenda of the legislative body.

It is noted that the relevant bill will be put to a vote in Parliament on Wednesday, June 17. The amendments were initiated by the Finnish Government. The proposed amendments to the legislation provide for the possibility of deploying and storing nuclear weapons on the territory of the Republic.

On April 23, the Finnish Ministry of Defense announced that the government had submitted to parliament a proposal to allow the import and storage of nuclear weapons for the purpose of defending the country within the framework of cooperation with NATO. At the same time, the acquisition, production, development and research of nuclear weapons in the country will be prohibited.
