The European Union will raise the issue of allocating up to 45 billion euros to Kiev at the G7 summit in Evian. This was announced on June 15 by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, at a press conference before the meeting.

"Our €90 billion loan covers two thirds of Ukraine's needs for 2026 and 2027, and we rely on Ukraine's partners for another third. We will discuss this issue here at the summit," she said, the broadcast was carried out on her page on the social network X (former. Twitter).

The head of the EC confirmed that the first tranche of €9 billion under the general credit line will be transferred to Kiev by the end. She added that Brussels has already begun discussing measures to ensure Ukraine's energy security during the upcoming winter.

On June 10, Sarah Wagenknecht, leader of the German Union for Social Justice and Economic Reasonableness party, accused Germany and the Baltic states of "madness," saying that other European countries were not ready to finance "senseless military actions" in Ukraine.
