Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on June 9 that he was annoyed by some statements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.

"It also sometimes pisses me off when I hear stupid statements from the other side of the border," the prime minister said at a press conference broadcast on his office's YouTube channel.

According to Tusk, he has repeatedly told the Ukrainian leadership about the need to take into account the interests of Poland, just as Warsaw takes into account the interests of Kiev. The Polish prime minister also accused the Ukrainian authorities of a lack of historical understanding, as well as a lack of due attention to the sensitivity of Polish society.

The fact that a scandal broke out between Poland and Ukraine was reported by The Telegraph newspaper on June 1. It was noted that Warsaw was outraged by Zelensky's decree to assign an honorary name to one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in honor of the UPA.

The head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist), arrived in Poland on June 5 to discuss naming the unit after Ukrainian nationalists. Former Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller called Budanov's trip a new provocation from Kiev.
