Xi Jinping to visit North Korea from June 8-9
Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a visit to the DPRK from June 8-9. This was reported on June 5 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
"Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China, will pay a state visit to the People's Republic of Korea from June 8-9," the publication says.
It is specified that the Chinese president will pay a visit at the invitation of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
On March 26, Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Kim Jong-un on the occasion of his re-election as head of the State Council of the DPRK. The Chinese President noted that he expects the DPRK to make further progress in developing its socialist course. He stressed that the traditional friendship between China and the DPRK is an important common asset of the two countries.
