Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a visit to the DPRK from June 8-9. This was reported on June 5 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

"Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China, will pay a state visit to the People's Republic of Korea from June 8-9," the publication says.

It is specified that the Chinese president will pay a visit at the invitation of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

On March 26, Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Kim Jong-un on the occasion of his re-election as head of the State Council of the DPRK. He stressed that the traditional friendship between China and the DPRK is an important common asset of the two countries.
