The Russian government has approved stricter control over inspection operators
The Government of the Russian Federation has approved a resolution that provides for increased control over the work of technical inspection operators from September 1. The document is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
We are talking about the fight against fictitious inspection of cars that have never actually been checked, Kommersant clarifies. When issuing electronic diagnostic cards, some operators upload fake images of cars and experts to the information system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which are then detected by the State Traffic Inspectorate during inspections.
If an operating company is caught with two violations during the year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs sends materials to the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), which revokes its accreditation.
Starting from September 1 of this year, the police will be able, without waiting for a decision, to disconnect the operator caught in a fictitious inspection from the EAISTO system and suspend card processing. Businesses will be able to file a complaint about the shutdown.
Now passing a technical inspection is mandatory for passenger taxis, trucks and buses. Individual owners of passenger cars are required to undergo a technical inspection only when re—registering cars older than four years and when making changes to the design.
Earlier, on May 28, it was reported that the technical inspection of vehicles in Russia is planned to be improved so that it contributes to improving road safety. This is provided for by the action plan approved by the Russian Government for the implementation of the Strategy for Improving Road Safety.
