The issue of pressure on Cuba from the United States is present in Moscow's contacts with Washington. This was announced on June 1 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

"Washington's pressure on Cuba is present in our contacts with the Americans," he said, stressing that the approaches of the Russian and American sides to this issue are radically different, RIA Novosti reports.

At the same time, Ryabkov added that Moscow understands the difficult situation of the republic due to the illegal American blockade and does not intend to remain indifferent to the increasing pressure on Havana.

On May 29, Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdez Mesa thanked Russia for oil supplies, which were carried out even under the economic blockade by the United States. According to him, this is felt by Havana at times when it continues to follow the path of its economic development complicated by Washington.

Meanwhile, on May 16, Izvestia learned from journalist Polina Alvarez how the locals live in Cuba now. She clarified that while the country's authorities are taking countermeasures to American actions, citizens are trying to adapt without losing optimism.
