The number of dead and wounded American soldiers in the conflict between Iran and the United States has grown to 423 people. This was reported on May 27 by the Intercept with reference to the statistics of the Pentagon he studied.

"According to official data from the Pentagon, the death toll currently stands at 423 people, which is three more than according to the latest official data from the military department, published on Friday," the publication said.

The authors of the material also noted that the increase in the number of victims occurred against the background of a statement by Iran's Supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei in a written statement that the war had exposed the vulnerability of American military bases in the Middle East, as well as threats by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to respond to any U.S. strikes.

Mojtaba Khamenei said on May 26 that after the end of the conflict with the United States, American military bases in the Middle East would no longer be safe. He also called on all Islamic countries to be friends and cooperate with Tehran in the name of goodness and righteousness.

On May 25, Fox News reported that the United States had attacked targets in southern Iran. The US military hit two boats of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as well as the position of an anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) in the port city of Bandar Abbas.

Earlier in the day, Reuters reported explosions in the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas and coastal areas near the Strait of Hormuz.
