The beauty industry largely monetizes the fear of aging by offering quick solutions instead of systematically dealing with the causes of age-related changes. Yulia Lovtsova, the founder of the KEWO brand of Russian premium cosmeceuticals, told about this on May 26. "Газете.Ru ".

"There is nothing physiologically scary about wrinkles themselves. But if they severely deform the face, then this is a signal of an unhealthy lifestyle and severe internal stress," she said.

According to Lovtsova, the nature of aging depends on lifestyle and habits. She identified different types of age-related changes, linking them to nutrition, posture, stress levels, and UV exposure.

"For example, the deformity-edematous type is a marker of excess weight and protein deficiency. Fine wrinkling is the result of UV damage and aggressive care. The muscular type is associated with activity, nutrition, and emotional stability," the expert said.

Lovtsova also stated that genetics affects the body's detoxification systems, which are responsible for neutralizing toxins and overall health. She added that modern cosmetic components should be combined with the restoration of the skin barrier.

"At the same time, there is no need to fall into fanatical "greenwashing". Smearing your face with sour cream is not an option. The modern approach is to balance the net base and assets: peptides, niacinamide, azeloglycin," she said.

The expert added that the European Union has restricted the use of retinol in cosmetics due to the risk of vitamin A hypervitaminosis and the need to control its concentrations.

According to her, retinol is not the only effective component of care, and there are alternatives to it — niacinamide, peptides and means to restore the protective barrier of the skin.

Candidate of Medical Sciences, dermatovenerologist, cosmetologist Ekaterina Vasilyeva said on May 25 that injection procedures can be an effective way to maintain youth and improve skin condition. She noted that there are many myths surrounding such techniques that do not correspond to reality.
