Israel reported a strike on the leader of the military wing of Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Israel has attacked the new leader of the military wing of the Hamas movement, Mohammed Odeh. This was announced on May 26 by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"We attacked Mohammed Odeh in Gaza— the leader of the military wing of Hamas," Netanyahu wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

At the same time, the Israeli prime minister did not specify anything about the result of the attack and Odeh's condition. According to him, the new leader of the military wing of Hamas allegedly participated in the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

On May 16, Reuters reported the death of the former leader of the Hamas military wing, Izz al-Din al-Haddad. At that time, the Israeli authorities accused al-Haddad of murdering and abducting Israeli citizens.

On the same day, Lebanon's National News Agency reported that an Israeli strike on a civil defense center in the Haruf settlement in Nabatiyah district in southern Lebanon killed six people, including three rescuers.
