In the UK, the temperature record for May has been updated, the air at London Heathrow Airport and the Royal Botanic Gardens of Kew has warmed up to +35 degrees. This was reported by The Independent on Tuesday, May 26.

"The UK had the hottest May day ever, breaking the record for the second day in a row," the publication says.

The day before, the temperature record was also broken, RT reports. The thermometer in London reached 34.8 degrees, exactly two degrees more than 82 years ago.

Anatoly Tikhonov, Director of the Center for International Agribusiness and Food Security at the Presidential Academy, said on May 25 that the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America and Australia are at risk of being hit hardest by the El Nino climate phenomenon.
