The actions of Czech President Petr Pavel, who called on NATO to take "decisive" action against Russia, could lead to a direct clash between the alliance and Moscow. This was announced on May 24 by Finnish politician and member of the Freedom Alliance party Armando Mema.

"All these actions will lead to a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia. This is part of the dangerous rhetoric that the leadership of the European Union (EU) continues to pursue," the report says in X (ex. Twitter).

He noted that the EU should return Russia's partner status, and not perceive it solely as an opponent.

On May 22, the Czech leader said that NATO needs to take "decisive" actions against Russia due to incidents with drones in the Baltic states. Peter Pavel also criticized Europe for still being unable to define its policy towards Moscow.
