Roskachestvo experts explained on Friday, May 22, what you should pay attention to when buying sunscreen. Experts have warned that ultraviolet radiation accelerates the aging process and increases the risk of developing melanoma, so using sunscreen in summer is very important, regardless of age.

The agency said that creams with physical and chemical filters are available on the Russian market.

"The former contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. They reflect the rays, are considered the safest and are suitable for sensitive and children's skin, but they can leave white marks. The latter are chemical, absorb ultraviolet light, are lighter in texture, but eventually disintegrate in the sun and require frequent updating," Roskachestvo said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

The press service added that the ideal option for most is products with mixed filters that combine the reliability of physical protection and the comfort of chemical protection.

In addition, experts recommended choosing an SPF of at least 30, and for fair—skinned people and on the beach - SPF 50.

At the same time, Roskachestvo warned that no cream provides one hundred percent protection. Experts said that it must be applied in a thick layer 15 minutes before going out and renewed every two hours or after each swim.

"When buying, it is important to check for the EAC label, manufacturer's name and expiration date. The packaging must indicate the presence of protection against UVA and UVB," Roskachestvo warned.

Experts recommended giving preference to water-resistant products or creams with wax in the composition, as they stay on the skin longer when sweating and bathing. In addition, it is worth avoiding products with citrus essential oils in the composition, as they increase sensitivity to the sun.

"And most importantly: there is no need to save on quantity — for the face it is necessary to apply a cream with a volume of about a teaspoon, otherwise the declared effect will not be achieved," the press service of Roskachestvo concluded.

In turn, Ekaterina Shcherbina, an assistant at the Department of Polyclinic Therapy at the Pirogov University ICM, said that when choosing a sunscreen, you should pay attention to its spectrum of action, according to the website. kp.ru . The therapist advised not to forget to protect sensitive areas: ears, neck, eye area and lips. 360.ru .

Oncologist Evgeny Cheremushkin told on May 18 how to avoid skin cancer. He stressed that the most dangerous ultraviolet radiation is for the elderly.
