The Kremlin called the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on Starobilsk a monstrous crime.

The attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a dormitory and college in Starobilsk, which targeted children and young people, is a monstrous crime of the Kiev regime. This was announced on May 22 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, answering a question from Izvestia.

"It was another crime of the Kiev regime. A blow to an educational facility where children and young people are. This is a heinous crime. Those responsible for this crime must be punished," he said at a briefing.

Peskov added that the most important thing now is to take measures to dismantle the rubble and provide assistance to those who are still under them. According to him, the Kiev regime should bear direct responsibility for this attack.

There may be up to 18 victims under the rubble of the destroyed building.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the college in Starobilsk on the morning of May 22. Three survivors and one deceased were recovered from the wreckage of damaged objects. It is assumed that up to 18 more people may be blocked. The number of injured reached 40 people.

Meanwhile, search and rescue operations were suspended, as there was a threat of a repeat attack from Ukraine. Later, the Ministry of Health of the region noted that eight people were taken to hospitals, three of whom are in serious condition.
