In January – April of this year, CTP insurers increased fees by 1.5% compared to the same period last year, and taking into account short policies, the figure increased by 2.8%, to 106.11 billion rubles. This is stated in the message of the National Insurance Information System (NSIS), which was received by Izvestia on May 18.

The number of CTP contracts in the first four months increased 1.45 times (by 6.7 million) and reached 21.96 million policies. At the same time, the average premium fell by 28.5% due to the proliferation of short-term policies. It amounted to 4833 rubles against 6774 rubles in the first four months of last year.

Sales of "short" policies increased 6.7 times, to 8.14 million. Their share in the total number of CTP policies was 37% compared to 8% in the same period last year. The total premium on short policies increased 4.7 times (to 1.7 billion rubles), the average premium decreased by 30% (from 300 to 210 rubles).

The number of annual CTP policies decreased slightly, from 14.02 million to 13.82 million. Premium collections for annual policies increased by 1.5% and reached 104.4 billion rubles, while the average premium increased by 3% to 7,555 rubles.

Earlier, on May 15, it was reported that the average cost of a CTP policy for novice drivers increased by 17% over the year and reached 25.3 thousand rubles in the first quarter of 2026. For emergency customers, the indicator also increased significantly — by 15%, to 32.4 thousand rubles. The main reason for this price increase was the expansion of the tariff corridor of the Central Bank of Russia in December last year.
