European underground storage facilities (UGS) demonstrated an anti-record for gas injection on May 12-14, which showed the lowest levels in history. This was announced on May 17 by the Gazprom press service.

"According to Gas Infrastructure Europe, for three consecutive days — on May 12, 13 and 14 — the volume of net gas injection into European UGS facilities reached the lowest levels for these days in the entire history of observations," the Telegram channel said.

The company also talked about the possible reasons for such indicators. The report clarifies that the cool weather could slow down the pace of filling gas storage facilities.

Gazprom announced on the same day that the price situation is complicating the filling of Europe's underground storage facilities this season. The company noted that a number of countries, including Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland, carried out gas extraction from storage facilities on April 14. A similar situation is observed in the Baltic States on April 15.

Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said on March 30 that the level of gas reserves in the underground storage facilities of the European Union (EU) can be described as critically low for modern Europe. Miller assumed that reserves in European UGS facilities might not reach 70% by the beginning of next season.
