The death of the leader of the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, was confirmed by the organization. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on May 16.

"A senior Hamas official told Reuters on Saturday that the head of the group's military wing [al-Haddad] died the day after Israel claimed it had carried out an airstrike on him," the material said.

Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had attacked the Gaza Strip in order to eliminate the leader of the military wing of Hamas. Israeli authorities have accused al-Haddad of murdering and abducting Israeli citizens.

On the same day, Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported that an Israeli strike on a civil defense center in the Haruf settlement in Nabatiya district in southern Lebanon killed six people, including three rescuers.

On March 5, the IDF eliminated the commander of Hezbollah's firepower control in Beirut. According to an Israeli army statement, Zaid Ali Jumaa was killed in an attack by the Israeli Air Force. A senior Hezbollah officer was responsible for launching rockets and drones from Lebanese territory into Israel.
