Two Russian snipers shot down more than 180 drones in a week in their own area.

In just a week, two snipers from the 30th brigade of the Center group destroyed more than 180 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of the special operation. In an interview with Izvestia, Russian fighters talked about hunting enemy drones.

"Over the past week, our fighters have shot down more than ten hexacopters of various types in the vicinity of one village. And the enemy continues to develop this industry," said Alexander Safiulin, a correspondent for Izvestia.

Our fighters saw one of the downed hexacopters for the first time. It has a massive body, like the Vampire, which indicates that such a UAV is capable of carrying several tens of kilograms of explosives. However, despite the danger, our fighters are successfully hunting enemy drones.

"This Vampire-type hexacopter was destroyed in Krasnoarmeysk by my sniper pair <...> The weekly operating time of our group is more than 180 conventional FPV drones. We have about six or seven people like Vampire shot down steadily in a week," said a sniper with the call sign Albanian.

They try to aim at the center of the drone, where all the electronics are located. When hit, the drone lights up and falls. There is also an option to hit the screws so that the target loses the opportunity to move along the intended course.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces have become very active, all types of UAVs are very often used, and even Baba Yaga-type drones and shock drones began to fly during the day <...> They somehow have a bunch of raids," said a sniper with the call sign Max.

Russian military personnel use armor-piercing and incendiary cartridges to destroy heavy UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as they cannot be shot down with ordinary ones. The deputy platoon commander with the call sign Raccoon said that new semi-automatic vehicles had entered service with the Russian army. With their help, it is especially convenient to shoot down FPV drones.

"You can't just walk through it now. There are "birds" everywhere, the whole sky is controlled, scouts are everywhere, and there are a lot of FPVS. Everywhere you have to listen, watch, be careful <...> When you notice a drone, you have about five seconds to shoot it down and continue moving," said the Raccoon.
