In Geneva, Switzerland, an unknown person smashed a stained glass window in the Holy Cross Cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC). This was announced to Izvestia on May 15 by the head of the chancery, the dean of the cathedral, Archpriest Emilian Pochinok.

"On the night of May 14-15, 2026, an unknown person entered the territory of the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Geneva and committed an act of vandalism. The cathedral's historic stained glass window, which is about 160 years old, was smashed. After numerous attempts, the attacker managed to get inside the temple, where he also tried to enter the altar," the report says.

Thanks to the means of surveillance, the police managed to identify the suspect. He was detained by law enforcement officers. According to the clergyman, the amount of damage is still being clarified. He added that it was "not only about the financial side of the issue, but also about the loss of part of the cathedral's historical heritage."

On March 26, a Russian house was attacked in Prague. Molotov cocktails were thrown at the building. There were no casualties, the perpetrator was detained. Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, said that the attack on the Russian House in Prague is a planned terrorist attack against Russian property. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, in an interview with Izvestia, called the attack a barbaric act.
