All vital systems for the supply of the population, disrupted as a result of floods in Dagestan and Chechnya, have been restored. This was announced on May 15 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
"All life support systems have been restored in both regions. In the Republic of Dagestan, more than forty hectares of farmland were freed from water during the reporting period," the ministry said in a statement on the Maks channel.
The government of Dagestan has organized the clearing of scaffolding spaces in order to increase the capacity of riverbeds, engineering communications have been dismantled and moved. About a thousand cubic meters of riverbeds have been cleared of debris.
All residents of two temporary accommodation centers in Dagestan — 66 people, including 17 children — returned home. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, almost 29 thousand victims received payments in Dagestan and Chechnya.
Acting head of the republic Fyodor Shchukin said on May 4 that the main task of Dagestan remains to eliminate the consequences of the emergency situation due to large-scale floods in the region. According to Shchukin, measures to eliminate the consequences of the flood are unprecedented.
On April 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with representatives of the republic, noted that it was necessary to solve the problem as soon as possible with the help of flood victims in Dagestan who did not have time to arrange housing and confirm their rights, decisions should be made in favor of people.
