Alexey Komar, a psychologist and specialist in allergy and psychosomatics, spoke on Wednesday, May 13, about unexpected forms of allergies.

According to the expert, one day a man with an iron allergy came to him. When his wife picked up the device and started ironing, he began to swell and his body became covered with spots.

"One woman developed an allergy to cold in the summer. As the cool wind blows, hello, urticaria. And the reason for this was a difficult life story, where the cold was imprinted as a trigger that triggers a reaction," Komar said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

The specialist also described other rare forms of allergies that have been documented by science. For example, those who work with coins are sometimes allergic to nickel — touching metal money causes hives, NSN reports.

The psychologist said that another unusual reaction is called "alpha-gal syndrome" and is an allergy to any red meat that occurs due to the bite of certain types of ticks, mainly in the United States.

"And perhaps the most incredible form of allergy is to water. Yes, a person consists of 60% water, but sometimes the immune system can turn it into an enemy, and then even their own tears and sweat can cause a reaction," he concluded.

Earlier, on May 6, allergist-immunologist Valentina Fedorova said that among the trees causing allergies are alder, oak, birch, hazel, maple, ash. In May, the dandelion also begins to bloom, and then meadow or cereal grasses gather dust. 360.ru .

In turn, allergist and immunologist Nadezhda Logina warned RT on April 22 that birch is a common allergen in Russia.
