- TV presenter Sharapova called Molchanov one of the greatest professionals in Russia.
TV presenter Vladimir Molchanov was not only the author of wonderful materials, but also one of the most prominent Russian journalistic figures worth looking up to. This was reported to Izvestia on May 13 by TV presenter Arina Sharapova.
"I believe that this is one of the greatest professionals, journalists of our country's television. He was a great presenter, he wrote wonderful texts. I think he's a man who makes sense to look up to our modern colleagues, and he taught at the university for a long time. And I'm just happy for these guys who listened to him," she said.
Sharapova clarified that Molchanov now has only one grandson left, who works as an editor on the Kultura TV channel. The journalist's wife, Consuelo Segura, who was a Cuban—born director, died back in 2022, and their daughter died three weeks ago.
"I think he couldn't stand it and just walked away on his own," she summed up.
Vladimir Molchanov's death at the age of 75 became known on the night of May 13. He was known to the Russian audience for his participation in the programs "Time", "90 minutes" and "Before and after midnight". The professional was also the author of about 20 documentaries and was involved in investigations of Nazi crimes committed during the Great Patriotic War.
His colleague, sports commentator Georgy Cherdantsev, told Izvestia on the same day that Molchanov was able not to show possible confusion in the frame and keep his face under any circumstances. The source added that the TV presenter was an excellent storyteller and had an amazing sense of humor.
