The auto expert named the reason for the suspension problems for the summer season

By summer, many car owners really hear their suspension for the first time. After the winter and spring broken roads, knocks, creaks and vibrations begin to appear on every bump. Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the international franchise network of car service centers, told Izvestia on May 13.

"The reason for the aggravation is that during the cold season, the rubber-metal elements, dust covers and seals of the shock absorbers and steering gear lose elasticity and fail faster. Most often, silent blocks, stabilizer bars, ball bearings and shock absorbers are affected," explained Rodionov.

The specialist advised to carry out a full-fledged diagnosis of the chassis before active summer trips. During the inspection, the backlash and condition of all hinges, shock absorber supports, rubber-metal elements, as well as steering rods and tips are checked.

In addition, he drew attention to the fact that on dry asphalt and with good summer tires, drivers often relax, increase speed and shorten distances. At the same time, the load on the brakes increases dramatically with increasing speed: the kinetic energy that needs to be extinguished increases, and the cooling systems of the discs and pads experience increased thermal loads.

"After winter and reagents, corrosion often appears on the discs, the guides of the calipers can turn sour, the pads begin to "wipe" the disc, overheat and wear out faster. Therefore, before the summer, you should not delay the diagnosis of the entire system. It is necessary to check the uniformity of wear, the stroke of the pistons and guides, and the condition of the anthers," the expert noted.

He noted that preventive cleaning and lubrication of the calipers with a specialized high—temperature paste restores normal braking performance, prolongs the life of the pads and discs, and in case of wedging, restores normal dynamics and fuel consumption.
