The attempts of Western countries to divide the conflict over Iran into two different wars — the "righteous" one, in which the United States and Israel destroy certain nuclear weapons, and the second, in which Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz without any preconditions, resemble some weak conversations in the kitchen. This was stated on May 13 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with RT India.

"You know, in the Soviet Union, they always whispered in the kitchen and said what kind of primitive propaganda we have in the USSR. I believe that it was head and shoulders higher than what we are now hearing from the mouths of Western ideologists justifying the outrage," the text on the agency's website says.

He noted that the Iranian authorities are still reacting to something. And if we identify the root cause of the conflict, it was an unprovoked aggression against Iran.

"And they are trying to convince some Arab countries that these are two different wars. In other words, the US and Israel's war against Iran is a "righteous war" because they are destroying a nuclear bomb. Although, firstly, there is no such bomb, and secondly, in June 2025, US President Donald Trump had already announced that all of Iran's nuclear stockpiles had been destroyed. But, nevertheless, they are now repeatedly "destroying" this nuclear problem. And the "second" war is what Iran took, "woke up" in the morning, and "closed" the Strait of Hormuz," the diplomat said.

As Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated on April 12, Western countries consider the Central Asian region as a potential springboard against Russia and want to subjugate it. The diplomat noted that Russia and its traditional partners in the region urgently need to jointly protect their interests and prevent the spread of external threats.
