The WSJ reported on the UAE's covert strikes on Iranian territory.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched covert military strikes on Iranian territory. This was reported on May 11 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources familiar with the situation.
It is noted that the UAE is armed with Western-made fighter jets and surveillance systems. According to the newspaper, Iranian oil refineries were among the targets for the strikes.
"These attacks indicate that the country is now more willing to use them to defend its economic might and growing influence in the Middle East," the newspaper reports.
On May 5, Ebrahim Zolfagari, the official representative of the central headquarters of the Iranian military command Khatam al-Anbiya, said that the republic had not conducted operations against the UAE using missiles and drones and condemned the confrontational steps of this country. He added that the Emirates have become one of the weak points of the Arab world and have deployed the main number of American military bases on their territory. According to him, the state is becoming a source of constant threat.
