Among the injured were 27 child pedestrians, 17 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside pedestrian crossings.

On the eve of the second part of the long May holidays, the State Traffic Inspectorate urged motorists to observe traffic regulations and driving discipline. When planning long-distance trips, we recommend that you monitor the weather forecast and media information from possible traffic closures or restrictions. In case of a negative forecast, it is recommended to refrain from using personal vehicles for a while. Before departure, you should always check the technical condition of the vehicle, the operation of lighting devices, "wipers", the braking system, the level of technical fluids and the fullness of the fuel tank.
In conditions of precipitation and limited visibility, it is recommended to reduce speed and increase the distance to the vehicle in front, as well as avoid frequent lane changes, avoid sudden maneuvers and overtaking, and strictly follow the requirements of traffic rules related to starting traffic, changing lanes, turning, U-turn, and stopping. The life and health of both the driver and passengers, as well as other road users, depend on compliance with these basic measures of motor vehicle safety, the department said.
In addition, the State Traffic Inspectorate advised to exercise extreme caution and attention when driving through courtyards and parking areas, especially if it is carried out in reverse. This rule is doubly relevant for parking lots near shops, marketplaces, and shopping and entertainment centers with a large number of pedestrian visitors, many of whom come there with children.
"When approaching such facilities, as well as pedestrian crossings, motorists should reduce their speed as much as possible in order to be able to stop the vehicle in case of a sudden change in the road situation. Remember that the behavior of child pedestrians, as well as underage drivers using bicycles, scooters and personal mobility equipment, is often unpredictable due to age and the characteristics of child or adolescent psychology," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The day before, it was reported that according to the results of the first quarter, CTP turned out to be unprofitable in 60 regions of Russia. In these regions, insurance payments exceed insurance fees, as a result of which insurers incur losses, the RSA said.
