The Japanese government plans to send an economic delegation to Russia on May 26-27 with the participation of business representatives. This is reported by the Kyodo news agency, citing sources.
"The delegation will include such major Japanese companies as Mitsui & Co. and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL)," the article says.
The delegation will be sent to Russia under the leadership of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. In addition, the article notes that in case of successful negotiations, the countries will have the opportunity to participate in business transactions.
The Ryukyu Shimpo newspaper reported on April 2 that the Japanese delegation may discuss the purchase of Russian oil during its visit to Russia, which is scheduled for May. Invitations were also sent to top managers of major Japanese companies, including Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsui & Co. and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines.
