It's not only subconscious choices that prevent people from establishing long-term close relationships, but also poor communication skills. Candidate of Psychological Sciences Alina Koroleva told about this in an interview with Izvestia.

"Sometimes they give up on themselves after a failed romance or divorce — they don't want to repeat the hard experience. If it doesn't work out to build a relationship or there have already been several unsuccessful attempts, then people can consciously choose loneliness," the psychologist explained.

The expert noted that young people are increasingly focusing on the quality of relationships based on the principle of "it's better to be alone than with just anyone." According to her, "loneliness in a crowd" is the pain of big cities, where people are oversaturated with communication.

"Even if you don't want to, you hear and see a lot of different people — such indirect communication. But at the same time, the person is lonely," the editorial interlocutor noted.

The Queen also reminded that people are divided into introverts and extroverts. The former need to be alone from time to time to recover, while the latter "flourish" in communication.
