To mark the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII), VK has prepared a series of digital initiatives that help preserve the memory of heroes, unite families and generations, and maintain the traditions of the holiday. Users will be able to join the online march of the Immortal Regiment, lay flowers at memorials in different cities, get acquainted with historical materials based on museum archives, as well as listen to special music and audio projects. This was reported on May 5 in the company's press service.

In particular, VKontakte supports the Immortal Regiment campaign in an online format. Users of the Maks messenger, VKontakte and Odnoklassniki social networks can upload archived photos to mini-applications until May 6, inclusive, tell about their heroes and join the virtual march, which will be held on May 9. In addition, users of the national messenger will be able to congratulate their loved ones using the service to create postcards and themed animated stickers.

On May 5, the VK Video platform will release the musical and poetic project "Living Voices" - a cycle of five issues dedicated to the war years. The project brought together famous artists of different generations, from Azamat Musagaliev and Basta to Vali Karnaval, Vlad A4 and Ksenia Borodina. They will read wartime poems to talk about the memory and events of the Second World War in their own way.

On the anniversary of the Victory celebration, on May 9, a congratulatory music video featuring the song "Dark Night" will be published in the main community of the VKontakte social network. Artists Soso Pavliashvili, Zara, Svyat and Ragda took part in the recording, and the folk choir will be the culmination. The track was created and recorded at VK Records studio.

On the eve of the holiday, the music label VK Records, the Igor Matvienko production center and the Integration production center also released the album "Music of Victory. Part 2" — 16 famous compositions of the war years in a new sound. The album is available on all platforms from April 24. Basta, Alsou, NILETTO, Stas Piekha, Valeria, Vladimir Presnyakov and other artists took part in the recording.

In Odnoklassniki, users can virtually lay flowers at memorials in 25 cities. With the help of the free mini-application "Victory Flower" from anywhere in the world, you can honor the memory of the war heroes by virtually laying flowers at the monuments. Popular OK authors will deliver real flowers from the participants of the action to the places of remembrance.

In addition, Odnoklassniki and the portal Kultura.RF" launches the project "Poems of Victory". From May 6 to May 10 in the group "Culture.Russian Federation" in OK, clips featuring theater, cinema and cultural figures will be released using the hashtag #stikhipobody — they will read poems from the war years.

Together with the State Historical Museum, Zen launched the project "Faces of Victory", combining materials based on the museum collection and telling about the feat of the peoples of the country through personal stories, front-line portraits and letters. On May 7, Zen will also host an exclusive live broadcast of the commemorative event "The Light of the Great Victory" on Mamayev Kurgan. In real time, an audiovisual work on the sculpture "Motherland is Calling!" will be shown. The project materials and the broadcast will be available on the thematic channel "Victory Day" in Zen.

The exclusive podcast "Radio Pobeda" is available in VK Music. Presenter Ivan Litvinov talks about the role of radio in the fate of the country and how people united through the air during the war years. By the memorable date, Kino Mail has collected the top 55 best Soviet films about the Great Patriotic War - the most beloved, kind, poignant and simply the best Soviet films in one collection.

The Victory Day Parade on May 9 will be broadcast on VK Video, Odnoklassniki and Zen platforms, as well as on the Mail homepage.

On the same day, the annual patriotic action "Fire of Memory" was held in the Alexander Garden near the walls of the Moscow Kremlin. The event was organized by the Popular Front. At the Grave of the Unknown Soldier, representatives of the movement, Russian celebrities and public figures, as well as war correspondents transferred particles of Eternal Flame into special lamps. They will be handed over to WWII veterans in the regions and special operations soldiers on the front line, as well as to 14 foreign countries.
