The demands for the withdrawal of Russian nuclear-tipped missiles from Kaliningrad sound ridiculous. Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's defense committee, said this on Monday, May 4.

Earlier, on May 3, Rolf Mutzenich, chairman of the parliamentary group of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in the Bundestag, said that Europe needed to discuss the issue of armaments with Russia, including reducing the arsenal in Kaliningrad, according to the website. kp.ru .

According to Myutzenich, it is necessary to insist on the withdrawal of Russian intermediate-range missiles with nuclear warheads from Belarus and Kaliningrad and on the inclusion of further steps in the comprehensive arms control policy process, IA Regnum reports.

"They cannot demand anything from the Kaliningrad region or Russia. And it sounds pretty funny, the clamorers have been found. First, let them pull up their pants in order to demand something from Russia," Kolesnik said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

The parliamentarian added that Europe could evaporate in the event of hostile actions against the Kaliningrad region.

"The whole of Russia will come down with its might if something happens against us. Then, actually, that's it. Let Europe prepare for the end of its existence, they are already tired of hanging around here and making people nervous. It's time for them to get nervous themselves," he concluded.

Alice Weidel, leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, said on March 22 that long-term stability in Europe is impossible without resuming dialogue with Russia. In her opinion, sanctions and escalation have only brought harm, and energy partnership and good relations with Moscow are necessary for the survival of European countries.
