Ulyanov pointed to Europe's preparations for war with Russia
European NATO member states are obsessed with the idea of an imminent war, and exercises near the Russian borders indicate preparations for its outbreak. This was stated on May 2 by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov.
"The European members of NATO are obsessed with the idea of an "inevitable war in Europe" and the desire to demonstrate their moral and technical readiness for it," Ulyanov wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
He added that the Northern Strike 26 exercises that began in Finland, which take place 70 km from the border with Russia, "pave the way" for a real war.
Artillery exercises Northern Strike 26 began in Finland on May 2. The site of the maneuvers was the Vuosanka training ground in the municipality of Kuhmo, located just 70 km from the border with Russia. During the exercises, the military personnel will practice artillery, mortar and tactical live firing. The number of participating vehicles is not specified.
Dmitry Polyansky, Russia's Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), said on April 30 that France and Poland's plans for joint exercises with nuclear strikes were a direct preparation for war. He also pointed to the trend towards the spread of nuclear "umbrellas" to the EU countries.
