Gelendzhik became a unique gallery of tastes for several days, where the second national gastronomic competition "Laurels" was held. Hundreds of chefs presented the culinary geography of the Russian Federation, centered in the wine town of Bely Mys. All the details are in the story of the Izvestia correspondent Yaroslav Bogat.

"When you're a chef, you're constantly at work, you just don't have time for yourself, to cook for someone. You develop, you invent, you're just at work," said Ilya Voroshilov, a participant in the second Lavra national gastronomic competition.

The pace is such that there is no time to cool down: just over an hour to cook three dishes from scratch. The jury is arguing about tastes, but the delicious is usually silently marked. Young chefs from all over the country are competing in the competition. They are judged by recognized masters of the industry.

"Here, our story begins with the fact that you prepare and hone every movement and every action many times," said Alain Lukinykh, winner of the second Lavra National gastronomic competition.

A serious selection process took place in Moscow: almost 400 applications from 55 cities and only 16 finalists. Each dish of the participant contains a gastronomic biography of the region.

Participation in the Laurels has already become synonymous with a quality mark for young chefs. The competition is the first project of the Bely Mys wine city.

"The wine city borders on the longest embankment in Russia with a sea view in the very center of Gelendzhik Bay. This is a new point of attraction for all Russian tourism," the Izvestia correspondent noted.

It looks like something from the future: a living lawn right on the roof, a smooth snow-white silhouette that harmoniously repeats the natural landscape. The ensemble of buildings was built in the bio-tech style by architect Philip Ball, whose designs adorn the streets of Edinburgh, Bristol, Budapest. The concept was developed by the architectural firm Dyer, architects from Russia helped bring bold ideas to life. It is very important that nature is not touched. One of the attractions is the 120—year-old poplar Anatoly. The building was built around an ancient tree.

"There is no such place in the world, not like in Russia. There is something similar in Bordeaux, but there, in my opinion, 16 thousand square meters. m. We have 42 thousand square meters of space here, and, of course, there is no such facility dedicated to winemaking in the world," said Dmitry Levitsky, head of the Bely Cape Wine City project.

Bely Mys is being created by the ROSSIYA Group of Joint-Stock Bank. Huge investments have already yielded results: These are new jobs, tax revenues to the budget, and, most importantly, a strong impetus for the development of tourism both in Gelendzhik and throughout the Krasnodar Territory.

"I think it's a great idea to come here for a long weekend from Friday to Monday in order to get to know the wine culture in all its glory," Levitsky said.

Gelendzhik Airport is expanding the geography of flights, which means that there are no logistical obstacles for those who want to plunge into a completely new tourist format. Especially when the route lies to the modern not only wine, but also the gastronomic capital of the south, and maybe the entire Russian Federation. Where there is good wine, there is always delicious food. But the most important thing is that for any wallet.

"Restaurants will be completely different in terms of price segmentation, starting from the bakery cafe in which we are located, we will have buns for 120 rubles, some Soviet-style with cottage cheese, and up to a meat restaurant with steaks," said the brand chief of the Bely Cape Wine City project." Inver Tlechuch.

The heart of the wine city is the Lev Golitsyn Wine Museum, which will house one of the world's most advanced wine laboratory centers, a cinema, a concert hall and an expocenter, a wine academy, and even a real registry office. There will be 10 large restaurants and many gastronomic outlets, an enoteca.

"The enoteca of the wine city is a real labyrinth of one of the largest wine collections in Russia, where each bottle has its own story," the Izvestia correspondent showed.

Already in 2027, the national Laurels Competition, which nurtures a new generation of chefs, will be held here, in the Wine City of Bely Mys, the new gastronomic capital.

"The Inkerman plant in Crimea was built in a quarry that was formed when the hero city of Sevastopol was being restored. This is a legendary stone, and we really wanted to emphasize this, and we did it in our space. The stone came straight from the quarry. It was honed especially for us into an interesting shape so that it would look harmoniously in our design," said Anastasia Butskaya, head of the wine city "White Cape" wine library.

On April 14, a solemn ceremony of awarding the first international restaurant award WhereToEat International was held in Moscow. Awards were given to the best restaurants in Russia and six post-Soviet countries. In addition, the winners in a series of special nominations were announced.

Thus, according to WTE International, BoBo (St. Petersburg) became the best restaurant of the year. The Olluco restaurant (Moscow) is in second place. Frantsuza Bistrot (Saint Petersburg) took the third place.
