In the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, a 17-year-old boy, showing friends an award-winning pistol, accidentally shot one of his comrades with it. This was announced on Wednesday, April 29, by Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Maxim Buzhansky.

"A tragedy occurred in the Dnipropetrovsk region today, a 17-year—old boy was showing friends his relative's award-winning pistol, and accidentally shot a friend. <...> This was negligence, the weapon should have been in a safe, which only the owner of the weapon should have access to," his message on the Telegram channel says.

Buzhansky noted that there is a lot of talk in Ukraine about legalizing weapons for alleged self-defense, but they do not think about responsibility for their storage and use. So, according to him, there is no punishment in the country for issuing and acquiring fake medical examination certificates for the right to possess weapons.

"There is not a single statistical case when someone would be denied permission to purchase weapons because of the comments of a psychiatrist or a narcologist, for example," the deputy stated.

On April 26, the Ukrainian agency UNIAN reported that an unknown person opened fire on people with traumatic weapons in the Kharkiv metro. According to the newspaper, police officers were working at the scene of the incident.
