- The forecaster spoke about the impact of cyclones on the weather in different seasons.
A cyclone at different times of the year brings with it clouds, precipitation and wind, while an anticyclone usually provides clear and dry weather. This was announced on April 29 by Lyudmila Parshina, a leading specialist at the Hydrometeorological Center.
Cyclones and anticyclones are large-scale atmospheric vortices that have a significant impact on weather conditions throughout the year. Their effect is determined by the peculiarities of air circulation, atmospheric pressure and moisture condensation processes.
"In different seasons, cyclones make the weather unstable, wet and windy, while anticyclones, on the contrary, are stable and dry, but with pronounced seasonal coloration, heat in summer and frost in winter. Their alternation forms the main weather pattern in temperate latitudes," the forecaster told RIA Novosti.
Parshina added that the cyclone has atmospheric vortices with low pressure in the center. In the Northern Hemisphere, the air in it moves counterclockwise, which usually leads to clouds and precipitation. An anticyclone, on the contrary, is an atmospheric vortex with high pressure in the center. In the Northern Hemisphere, the air in it moves clockwise, which contributes to clear and dry weather.
Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, announced on April 28 that cool weather is expected in Moscow during the first May holidays. On May 1, the air temperature will not exceed +10 degrees, on May 2 and 3 — + 14 degrees.
