The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on the violation of the secrecy of correspondence following the hacking of the account of Artem Chekalin, the ex-husband of blogger Valeria Chekalina (Lercek). Unidentified persons gained access to his personal messages on social networks. Information about the initiation of a case under Part 1 of Article 138 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was confirmed by lawyer Konstantin Tretyakov.

Chekalin himself was previously sentenced to seven years in a penal colony and fined 194 million rubles in the case of illegal withdrawal of funds abroad. The defense has already filed a complaint against this verdict. According to lawyer Yevgeny Tonkiy, Valeria Chekalina's entrepreneurial activity does not violate the law, since the house arrest regime in her suspended case does not impose prohibitions on doing business.

Lercek has announced the launch of a new cosmetic line, Eyya skin. Her lover Luis Squicciarini, an Argentine, invested personal funds in the creation of the brand.
