The lawyer confirmed the legality of launching a new business Lercek
The launch of the new brand of blogger Valeria Chekalina, known as Lercek, took place in full compliance with the law. This opinion was expressed on April 22 by lawyer Evgeny Tonkon in a conversation with Channel Five.
The day before, the blogger presented her new cosmetics brand and shared on social media that she wanted to create a product that would help women take care of their health and beauty.
"At the moment, a criminal case is being conducted against Lercek, and at the moment it is suspended, that is, in fact... Lercek is currently innocent," he said.
Tonky added that no verdict had been passed against Chekalina, so she still has the right to conduct business. Also, the house arrest that Lercek was under does not imply a ban on commercial activities.
On March 16, the court released Chekalina from house arrest after confirming her cancer. Also, due to illness, it was allowed to suspend judicial proceedings in the blogger's criminal case on her withdrawal of more than 250 million rubles to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The hospital doctors assessed Lercek's condition as moderate, her lawyer said. On March 11, Chekalina began treatment at the State Cancer Center. She was later taken to a medical facility to begin a course of chemotherapy. The lover and father of her fourth child, Luis Squicciarini, announced on March 8 that she had cancer cells.
