The number of vessels that have been redirected to the US Armed Forces has increased to 38 since the beginning of the naval blockade of Iran. This was announced on April 26 by the Central Command of the United States Armed Forces (CENTCOM).

"American troops continue to enforce the blockade of Iranian ports, preventing ships from entering and exiting. The American troops ordered 38 ships to turn around or return to port," reads a post on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The day before, CENTCOM announced the interception of 37 vessels during the entire blockade. It was noted that a day earlier, the US Navy redirected the Sevan vessel, which was one of the 19 ships of the "shadow fleet" sanctioned by the US Treasury Department for activities related to the transportation of Iranian energy and oil and gas products for foreign markets.

Bloomberg reported on April 22 that at least 34 tankers and gas carriers linked to Iran passed through the Strait of Hormuz, despite the American blockade. It was added that of the ships that passed through the so-called blockade line, 17 were loaded, which indicates the continuation of energy exports from Iran, despite threats from the United States.
