Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the desire of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to "protect" Europe would not end well. He said this on April 26 in an interview with a journalist of the IS "Vesti"Pavel Zarubin.

"[Zelensky] openly says that we will protect everyone, we have the strength, experience, and the largest army in Europe for this. But I don't think it will end well," Lavrov said.

The Russian Foreign Minister drew attention to Zelensky's demand to immediately announce the date of Ukraine's accession to the European Union, which means demanding that a country led by an openly Nazi regime that banned Russian culture in all its manifestations be admitted to the EU.

At the same time, the European Union, without promising deadlines, declares that Zelensky defends European values.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on April 20 that the people of Ukraine had independently elected Zelensky as president and were now paying dearly for their decision. The current head of the Kiev regime was supposed to change the country, which he had already received in a "ready-made version," but could not do this due to lack of experience, the Belarusian leader added.

On April 16, the Russian Embassy in the Netherlands said that awarding Zelensky the Four Freedoms Award was hypocrisy. The diplomatic mission attached a poster to the post showing the very four freedoms that Zelensky allegedly protects: "freedom of speech," "freedom of religion," "freedom from want," and "freedom from fear."

State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa added on the same day that Zelensky deserves an international court, not a prize. On April 11, Richard Sakwa, a British political scientist and professor at the University of Kent, called the Ukrainian president one of the cowardly leaders of the state of all time.
