Lavrov warned of a time bomb in the Middle East
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on April 24 that military methods in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank of the Jordan River can only temporarily postpone the establishment of a Palestinian state, but this problem will inevitably worsen in the future.
According to him, attempts are now being made to obliviate the UN decisions on Palestine and abandon the idea of creating a Palestinian state.
"This can work by force, as we have seen in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. This will drive the problem deeper for a while, but it won't go away. It's going to explode anyway. Once again, it will be a "time bomb," Lavrov said in an interview with Russian Public Television, the text is posted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Lavrov also noted that the injustice towards the Palestinians and the failure to comply with the UN's two-state solution are causing widespread discontent in the Arab world, especially among ordinary citizens.
On April 17, the UN reported the deaths of 47 women daily in Gaza during the conflict with Israel. The report shows that between October 2023 and December 2025, more than 38,000 women and girls were killed in the Gaza Strip.
