On April 23, US President Donald Trump, discussing the possibility of inviting Russian President Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit, said he considered it necessary to maintain a dialogue with everyone.

"I'm of the opinion that we need to talk to everyone," he told reporters at the White House.

According to Trump, it is necessary to maintain dialogue even in conflict situations. He stressed that he does not support an approach in which the parties refuse to communicate.

On the same day, Trump said that Putin's participation in the upcoming G20 summit would be very useful. In addition, the American leader responded negatively to a question about sending an invitation to the Russian president.

The Washington Post reported on April 23 that Trump intends to invite Putin to the G20 summit, which will be held in Miami in December. According to the publication, no official invitation has been sent at the moment, however, since Russia is a member of the intergovernmental forum, it will be invited to ministerial meetings, as well as to the leaders' summit.
