- Lavrov announced the readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help train and retrain its veterans.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with MGIMO, will continue to work on the education and professional retraining of veterans of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on April 23 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a joint meeting of the university's Supervisory and Board of Trustees.
The Minister noted that the educational program specializing in Urban Infrastructure Management and Territorial Development was a joint initiative of MGIMO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and GlavUpDK with the support of the Defenders of the Fatherland State Foundation. According to Lavrov, the project is already yielding positive results.
"More than fifty people have already completed their studies, and on March 27, a little less than a month ago, we presented diplomas to the third set of students of the programs together with Anatoly Vasilyevich [Torkunov] and Andrei Yuryevich Vorobyov in this very hall," the diplomat said.
Lavrov stressed that the ministry and the relevant educational institution plan to further facilitate the organization of courses for Russian fighters.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on April 21 that the experience of veterans of special operations is important for the implementation of projects useful to society. He noted that veterans of the SVR are already working in various positions, providing support to servicemen who have returned from the front and their families. In this regard, the President of the Russian Federation recalled the federal program "Time of Heroes" and similar regional personnel projects.
