Veterans of the special operation in the authorities will keep special control over the support of military personnel and their families. This was stated by Vladimir Putin on December 15 at a meeting with the Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia party, Vladimir Yakushev. In total, 890 CBO participants received mandates in the elections in 2025, the president's interlocutor said. Now, the main task facing United Russia is to conduct the next campaign, including elections to the State Duma.

What was discussed at the meeting

Vladimir Yakushev called the main task for the party to hold a Single voting Day in 2026. Next year, all political forces will face both regional and federal campaigns — elections to the State Duma. The party is currently working on creating a strategy for their implementation, which will include all comments and suggestions from the field.

Vladimir Yakushev also told the president about the results of the Single Voting Day – 2025. The mandate was given to 890 participants of the special military operation. "If we compare with the previous year, there were 304 mandates in 2024. Therefore, we are clearly growing here," the secretary of the General Council of the party added. He stressed that the first SVO fighters came to the legislative assemblies of the EP on the ground back in 2023. "And it's already clear that the guys are actively involved in this work and are really helping. We see and feel it today," Yakushev said.

Veterans of their military service in the legislative bodies will keep the issue of support for military personnel and their families under special control, the president stressed. At the same time, the main issues related to the support of the special operation participants and relatives have already been resolved at the legislative level, Vladimir Yakushev assured. Such legislative initiatives are adopted almost unanimously, the secretary of the General Council of United Russia said.

Putin also asked about the party's volunteer work. Yakushev said that United Russia continues to provide constant assistance to its fighters. The work to support the military will continue "as long as necessary for a common victory." In addition, since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, the party has delivered 140,000 tons of humanitarian aid. Among other things, volunteers removed 3.3 thousand tons of fuel oil from the Black Sea coast after the tanker crash last year.
