- For the first time, Iran has received revenue from fees for passage through the Strait of Hormuz
For the first time in history, Iran has received revenue from tolls for crossing the Strait of Hormuz. This was announced on April 23 by the Vice-speaker of the Mejlis of the country, Haji Babai.
"The first income received from fees in the Strait of Hormuz was transferred to the account of the Central Bank," he is quoted as saying in the Telegram channel of the Mehr agency.
On April 18, the Iranian armed forces announced the restoration of military control over the Strait of Hormuz due to the blockade by the United States. Later, Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz from the evening of April 18 until the complete lifting of the US naval blockade.
Al Mayadeen TV correspondent Moussa Assi said on April 21 that the main obstacle to the start of the second round of negotiations is the naval blockade of Iranian ports. According to the journalist, it is possible that Trump will lift the blockade in the last minutes before the expiration of the truce on April 22.
